Documents

Documents are files attached with a description by clicking the New Attachment button on the Documents Tab.  Double-click on a saved attachment to open it or select it and click the View button.

Users must have the necessary application installed to open and view a Document based on the file name extension within Windows®.  For example, a document with the extension .doc would be viewed using Microsoft® Word™.

When Documents are attached they are copied into the database so that local copies of the file do not need to be kept elsewhere and the files are accessible to other Everest Users.

Attached documents use the Account Id as a prefix for the file name.  This naming convention eliminates conflicts of attaching documents with the same name to more than one Account.  When a file with the same name is attached more than once, the system will append a number (1..2..3..etc) to keep the file name unique.

The maximum file size for attachments is 12 megabytes.
