User Groups
User Groups are used to control access to various menu selections, windows and functions. Each Everest user is a member of a User Group.

Notebook Tabs
User Groups determine the visible Tabs for the Account Notebook and the Concern Notebook. Enable the same Notebook Tabs for all User Groups in order to maintain the same appearance and functionality for everyone. A User Group may be enabled with a specific Notebook Tab that is disabled for others. Most of the time, all end users need to see all of the same data in Everest so all the User Groups will have the same Notebook Tabs enabled. The exceptions usually involve the Returns Tab or the Repairs Tab when they apply exclusively to a specific department or business process. If that works, it is because the information contained in the Tab is important only for those User Groups enabled to see it.
System Privileges
Access for managing User Groups is enabled with the checkbox, “System Manager Privileges.” A User Group will also have these privileges if it is named “System Manager” which is the default. System Managers have the following additional privileges:
All other Users belonging to other User Groups may have access to User Information, but for security purposes, they will not have access to User Groups and they cannot select a "System Manager" user group for any User profile.
Account and Area Privileges
Establish adding, editing and deleting each of the supporting records for Accounts and Internal Areas.
Concern Privileges
All Concern privileges are granted to Concern Owners and users in a group with Full Access to all Concerns. Concern Access can be limited to Owners by creating the User Group(s) with the specific options for each privilege identified with a check box. Users without ownership access will default to View Only Access. In the case of Action Requests, the Concern Owner will have full privilege while the Action Owner will have response privileges.
By Default, only the Concern Owner and Action Owner can type a response to an action request. Also by Default, only the Concern Owner or a user with “Full Access to All Concerns” can re-assign actions.
Sales Activities:
By default, only the Sales Activity Owner or users with 'Full Access to All Concerns' can edit a Sales Activity.
